I originally came to Yoga seeking relief from the mental and physical stresses of my daily life. Immediately I felt the benefits of my new-found practice seeping into all aspects of my life. Playing yoga with my son and other kids helped me understand that children need yoga just as much, if not more, than adults do! I believe yoga has benefits for everyone at any stage of life and I'm committed to sharing what I've learned and continue to learn. I've completed teacher trainings with Theresa Elliott & Kathryn Payne of Pacific Yoga and Jodi Komitor of Next Generation Yoga... their expert instruction as well as previous studies in dance, music and psychology contribute to my personal teaching style.
Kid's Yoga
I believe in planting the seed of yoga early! Yoga teaches skills that a child will carry throughout life... even if their yoga practice isn't a lifelong pursuit. Emotional awareness, compassion and physical awareness and strength are only a few of the benefits of yoga for kids. My Kids classes are held in a non-competitive, supportive and creative atmosphere. Children learn yoga through interactive games that encourage growth in body/mind-awareness, self-esteem, strength and coordination. Safety, mindfulness and FUN are emphasized!!!
Adult Yoga
I'm also happy to teach adult yoga in a private setting! I specialize in alignment based Hatha yoga for beginners. My style also includes some vinyasa and creative movement as well.
